With the NHL regular season dwindling down, some teams still find themselves fighting for a playoff birth. The shortened season has reached it’s final week but the season is really just starting to heat up, with the playoffs right around the corner.
This week will feature key games for those teams looking to make the playoffs. For instance, teams that are already out of contention for the playoffs will get the chance to play spoiler to teams that need all the points they can get.
This personally is my favorite part of the season, besides the playoffs, because of the intensity some of these games will bring as rivals look to eliminate each other from playoff contention.
So will the Detroit Red Wings streak of 21 straight years of making the playoffs be ended? Or will the heavily favored Stanley Cup Champion at the seasons start New York Rangers even make it to the playoffs? I guess we will just have to remain patient and waite to see.
